Ozzy Road

During our first meeting of 2005, like many others we felt called to hold an appeal in aid of the Asian Tsunami appeal. The fellowship immediately responded and gave over £2500. The Church matched that amount and were able to send a cheque to Tear Fund and a BACS payment to Chanti Raju’s Good News Ministry (one of our partner Churches in North India).

The January Family Service saw fifty members of our congregation buying a £1 share in an Aquabox, to further help with the Tsunami Appeal. As a family at Ozzy Road we wanted to support another family on the other side of the world by buying into the Aquabox scheme. We bought our Aquabox, filled it with everyday items and sent it off in February.

January also saw our “Month of Prayer”, the fellowship were asked to pray for the “future vision of the church” and we held Prayer Meetings every Thursday night during the month.

February 2005 February was our “Month of Preaching the Gospel”, as a response to what we believe God was saying to us as a church, an appeal for Salvation was made at each meeting during the month.
February also saw another offering to raise money for yet another Aquabox.

March 2005 The month started with a Family Service on the theme of “Taste and See”, which included a live cookery demonstration. Easter was early this year and our Palm Sunday Meeting included palm branches as aids to worship. On Easter Sunday we met together for breakfast, before we shared communion. The last Sunday evening of March was given over a “Worship Celebration”, with the band trying out some new “Latin rhythms” and yet more experimentation in worship from our new “Painting Ministry”.
